The Bronze badge

The Bronze badge is the first step in your journey toward financial and digital autonomy.

Badges on USBC are a way to earn and signal levels of Trust with the USBC ecosystem and beyond. They are public and attached to your username.

Users can earn a Bronze badge by privately verifying and declaring basic information about themselves.

As with all personally identifiable information (PII), this data is private, secure, and owned and controlled by you, the user.

The Bronze badge requires the following information:

  • Verified phone number
  • Verified email
  • Declared name, date of birth, and residential address

The Bronze badge allows users to access services that require a baseline level of regulatory compliance such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) policies. For instance, the Bronze badge is required to access and interact with compliant digital dollars in the non-custodial wallet.

Such services may be within USBC partner ecosystem or beyond. Companies can implement their own badge requirements for any service on the internet.

Bronze badge users may also receive early access to USBC latest products and features.
